Qualifications
2+ to 5 Years
The primary purpose of this position is to develop manufacturing and process methods that are robust while continually identifying and seeking cost and quality improvement opportunities. This position assists in streamlining manufacturing development processes to support rapid program launches.
Essential Job Functions
· Defines, produces, and implements documents including engineering drawings, equipment qualifications, and process instructions.
· Implements process and equipment solutions which improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
· Develops tooling, fixtures, and equipment used in manufacturing to optimize productivity and cost.
· Interfaces with Quality and RD to integrate new products or processes.
· Participate in cross-functional project teams to implement creative solutions.
· Interacts daily with shop floor and manufacturing processes.
· Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or total project of moderate scope.
· Reviews test procedures and plans prior to implementation, conducts failure analysis and inspection on products, processes and materials.
· Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
· Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
· Investigates, develops and implements new process technologies of moderate scope.
· Prepares all necessary paperwork and documentation for all projects undertaken.
· Monitors performance of equipment, machines and tools and correct equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low yields or product quality issues.
· Responsible for identifying and correcting manufacturing process nonconformance’s identified during prototype builds.
Position Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in related field.
· 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Math and mechanical engineering skills.
· Computer-Aided Design and general computer skills
· Ability to operate multiple computer programs.
· Ability to deconstruct customer part data and requirements into usable process information suitable for the manufacturing capabilities available to the organization.
· 3-D modeling and drafting experience preferred.
· Bill of materials, routing, and general ERP system experience preferred.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
· Ability to function well under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
· Self motivated and goal-oriented.
· Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
