Director Manufacturing Operations

Location: Calgary, AB

 

Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing, production and assembly operations and initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital. Implement strategies and action plans to ensure the facility meets business goals. Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction. Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes. Manage operational policies, continuous improvement, cost reduction activities, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and plant performance measures. Manage budgets and implement cost controls. Previous experience leading production environments within lean manufacturing environments such as automotive, machining, electronics assembly or aerospace manufacturing operations. Ability to evaluate and develop capital equipment budgets based on current and proposed requirements. Demonstrated organizational, planning, communication, and management development skills. Strong business acumen with the ability to focus on overall business results in a dynamic environment. Ability to develop effective and credible working relationships, works effectively as part of a team, in addition to having good interpersonal communication skills with a hands-on approach. Demonstrated experience implementing operational cost savings and leading continuous improvement and lean six sigma efforts in all areas of the manufacturing process and supply chain. Proven leadership skills driving operations using continuous improvement methodologies. Degree in Engineering with related experience. MBA or related training an asset.

 

Production Manager

Location: Calgary, AB

 

Manage and lead aircraft production and assembly overseeing assemblers and technicians to maintain production schedules and quality standards. Ability to analyze production charts, work orders and production schedules and ensure production targets are met within timelines and quality targets. Plan and establish work schedules and assignments to meet production goals. Monitor cell activities, assembly and machine operations to ensure efficient use of materials, production efficiency and schedule adherence. Drive continuous improvement activities and improve processes. Identify and investigate production and or safety problems and take corrective action to ensure schedule adherence, minimize cost variances, maintain or improve quality standards, and maintain or improve work conditions. Supervise and evaluate performance and maintain records of production performance. Previous related aircraft production supervisory experience with knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture. Diploma /Degree Engineering with related experience.

 

Materials Process Engineer /Lead

Location: Vancouver, BC

 

Materials Process Engineering Lead to manage the materials process engineering group responsible for maintaining all specifications plus substantiates and recommend approval of changes to specifications. Responsibilities include Design Changes to Type Design, Develop and substantiate material and process improvements, Develop, review and approve hardware substitutions, Manage MODSUMs pertaining to material and process changes, Liaison with Transport Canada on changes to material and process specifications, Airworthiness Control Committee (ACC) review changes to practices, Conduct internal audits and vendor technical audits, Technical Resource Specialist, Provides design guidance to other engineers in the Material and Process specialty. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Product Support, Quality Control, contract Engineering Consultants, Vendors and TCCA personnel. Extensive knowledge of aircraft industry materials and processes plus the certification process is required.  Detailed knowledge of the practices utilized in the TCCO. Ability to prepare TCCO DAO documents and develop changes to practices. Degree /Diploma Engineering with related experience.

 

Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Vancouver, BC

 

Responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured by vendors /suppliers are in compliance with the Quality Management System. Provide technical assistance /support to vendors /suppliers as required. Ensure vendor compliance with specifications and quality program. Review and ensure accuracy of all externally generated quality related documents and records. Maintain /upkeep Supplier Quality Assurance Program and initiatives. Liaise with departments to provide necessary support to suppliers. Complete compliance audits of suppliers and manage the supplier and subcontractor qualification and evaluation programs. Develop, implement and maintain supplier performance metrics and objectives including On Time Delivery and Corrective Actions. Work with key Suppliers on Continuous Improvement and Cost reduction initiatives and programs. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and familiarity with Material Resource Planning software (Visual Manufacturing) an asset. Prior Audit experience in AS9100 or ISO9001. Degree /Diploma Engineering with related experience.

 

Quality Engineer

Location: Vancouver BC

 

Develop detailed quality inspection plans and acceptance test procedures. Liaise between manufacturing and engineering as a member of the MRB, and provide mentorship to quality inspectors. Develop and maintains portions of the Quality Management System pertaining to quality control. Develop and maintain quality inspection test plans and standard work documents for large or complex assemblies and parts. Develop and maintain acceptance test procedures for mechanical components. Assist in the development and maintenance of final test procedures for aircraft acceptance. Develop NCR repair schemes and liaise with engineering as a quality member on the MRB. Perform and coach others in root cause analysis and corrective actions. Publish metrics for the quality control department. Provide mentorship and coaching to quality control inspectors. Member on MRB. Experience in aerospace quality control /assurance and previous MRB experience an asset.  Degree /Diploma Engineering with related experience.

 

Methods Engineering Lead

Location: Vancouver BC

 

Methods Engineering Lead responsible for managing the Plant Methods Engineering functions. Implement industry standard continuous improvement methodologies to ensure that the product consistently meets all required quality standards, while reducing production costs and cycle times. Develop manage a Methods Team in a production plant environment. Participate within the design change Project Management Team (PMT). Develop plan for manufacturing plan deliverables such as product flow, layout, cycle, visual aids, workbooks instructions, tooling, etc. Assess risks and develop mitigation plan for processes and equipment (FMEAs). Analyze optimize material flow. Participate in supplier negotiations to ensure a strong understanding of the operations requirements. Manage development, implementation, optimization and build sequence planning, documentation, provisioning and tooling requirements for parts or assemblies. Manage MET’s in root cause analysis of production issues and errors. Conduct business /process analysis as required and use sound benchmarking principals and techniques as required for analysis. Maintain and develop cognizance of new manufacturing processes within the aerospace industry and in the plant. Possess a sound understanding of basic industrial engineering principles as they relate to work study, process analysis and resource planning. Degree /Diploma Engineering with related experience.

 

Manufacturing /Process Engineer

Location: Calgary, AB

 

Analyze and improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes and monitor parameters.  Develop and implement lean manufacturing methods and principles (Kaizen, Six Sigma etc).  Manage and lead Six Sigma projects in areas of productivity and quality improvements. Previous experience leading process improvement projects and implementing JIT techniques in high mix, low volume production environments. Knowledge of PFMEA, Six Sigma, Manufacturing Planning and Control, Facility Layout, JIT, and Kaizen techniques. Diploma /Degree Engineering with related experience in a manufacturing environment for automotive, aerospace or related environment
