Tranter, Inc. is currently searching for a Manufacturing Services Manager
Tranter, Inc. will pay for relocation to Wichita Falls, TX.
Job Summary:
This Manager will provide technical and administrative supervision to the engineering personnel responsible for supporting existing product lines of the Manufacturing plant. This individual will be in charge of the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering activities for all the company’s manufacturing processes, including but not limited to machining, painting and assembly. Champion project and new capital justifications, hires and supervises engineers and technicians. Makes project assignment, evaluates performance, and is responsible for its successful completion. This Manager will have a lead role in driving cost reduction, machinery optimization and continuous improvement.
Job Functions:
· Develops preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Tracks appropriate measures and metrics to assess effectiveness of programs.
· Administer environmental program to comply with all rules and regulations.
· Coordinates design, set-up and validation of production lines to meet schedule and quality requirements.
· Involve production, maintenance. Quality, engineering and materials personnel in a team approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and reduction of process variation.
· Justify capital investments and select equipment to support project requirements.
· Ensure that all safety regulations, including regulatory controls, are carefully followed.
· Conduct D.O.E. PFMEA, Kaizen events, SPC, Kanban, activities to ensure process optimization.
· Optimize automated equipment.
· Familiarization with Time Motion studies, 4M computerized time measurement systems, stop watch studies and their use in establishing work place standards
Education:
· Bachelors degree in Engineering
Experience:
· Five to seven years of supervisory experience in an engineering related environment, or demonstrated ability to successfully supervise engineering personnel.
Required Skills:
· Strong people management interpersonal communication skills
· Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing experience
· Able to effectively manage multiple projects at a time
· Knowledge experience in implementing SMED techniques
Preferred Skills:
· Knowledge of PFMEA, DOE and Process Capability Studies
· Working knowledge of Time Motion Studies
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to walk around the plant and office areas.
