Major Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineering Group is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Staff Engineer who will work seamlessly with other essential team members primarily responsible for engineering support in the areas of Production Operations, Facilities, and Capital Projects.
Expectations include:
· Apply engineering expertise, lean manufacturing techniques and practical experience to planning/implementing process/capital equipment improvements and troubleshooting problems
· Communicate effectively with the operational workforce
· Facilitating group meetings
· Ability to understand the operation of a number of different types of manufacturing equipment including dispersion/mixing units and batch reaction systems
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with greater than 5 years of experience in the specialty chemical/adhesives manufacturing or related chemical process industry experience.
Requirements include:
· Experience with capital project leadership, design, installation, and startup of chemical process equipment
· Experience with batch or continuous chemical reaction systems, mixing/dispersion equipment, control systems, support equipment
· Experience reading piping and instrument diagrams, electrical control schematics and loop drawings
· Good problem solving and communication skills
· Experience with LEAN manufacturing tools and principals
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in the development, execution, and overall management of capital projects. Experience or working knowledge with SAP, bills of materials / recipes, project accounting. Strong working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations or application. Experience with AutoCAD. Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS). SPC and/or Six Sigma knowledge. Leadership experience.
