B/E Aerospace's Commercial Aircraft Segment is seeking energetic, self-starters for the position of Manufacturing Supervisor at our Lenexa, KS facility. At our Lenexa site we manufacture and assemble a wide selection of passenger and crew oxygen storage and delivery systems. This position is responsible for implementing activities in production units to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives, to include supervision of nonexempt associates involved in production, assembly, sub assembly or fabrication operations; by performing the following duties in our Life Support Systems Group. Reviews and prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, efficiency, materials supply and personnel resources; assigns associates to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements. Informs assigned associatesof production and/or material problems and coordinates with support groupsto resolve operational problems affecting schedules. Participates in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures. Develops schedules and personnel requirements for assigned areas; maintains a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods, and other manufacturing aspects. Provides direct supervision to nonexempt associates and may provide general supervision to lower-level supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's guidelines, procedures and policies plus applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and process to meet goals outlines. Performs other related duties as required. Job Requirements : Associates degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school; and minimum three years related experience and/or training. Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations. Must have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence. Preferred Requirements : Trains, develops, facilitates and leads continuous improvement initiatives to achieve bottom line results, utilizing lean techniques. Trains and motivates associates in the use and implementation of continuous improvement principles with a focus on 5s.
