Manufacturing Support Technician Job in Princeton, New Jersey US

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:
Handle problems related to manufactured products and analytical instruments: Analyze problems, diagnose probable causes, systematically eliminated alternatives, provide troubleshooting solutions and track success of troubleshooting or repairs. Use logical processes to identify problems and causes.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Investigate individual problems and identify causes; develop solutions based on available information. Escalate problems to appropriate resource level for solution.
2. Document product and instrument problems within established guidelines. Use computer systems and all required applicable software in documenting work. Meet document expectations in a clear and timely manner.
3. Provide instrument training to other personnel as assigned. Be part of the investigation team needed to address manufacturing and instrument problems.
4. Help recognize and address repeat product issues. Take initiative to make changes to improve how work is done. Influence product and product improvements.
5. Work in a technical atmosphere with limited supervision.
6. Provide technical assistance and complete assignments in selected area.
7. Work with multidiscipline engineers and other professionals to understand task requirements. Seek out information from experts in other functional areas or organizations to develop better methods for achieving work-related goals.
8. Adapt to changing requirements and meet project commitments without sacrificing workmanship quality .
9. Make suggestions for achieving team goals or performing team functions. Develop creative improvements that are adopted by other work groups.
10. Comply with all applicable regulations, Abbott policies and procedures.
11. Follow all EHS rules and procedures for your department. Report any EHS incidents and/or Near Misses (unsafe acts and conditions) promptly to supervision. Attend all required training and medical surveillance programs. Wear all PPE as required. Forward any opportunities to improve the EHS program to supervision.
12. Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.

Two (2) to four (4) years relevant experience to achieve core job responsibilites. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to explain engineering issues clearly. Experience with automation or robotics. Knowledge of engineering principles. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Organization and project management skills. Able to train manufacturing operators in use of equipment.
