Manufacturing Technician
ATMI is seeking a Manufacturing Technician who is responsible for producing and testing our gas delivery technology products. Technicians work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature and are responsible for identifying deviation from accepted practice, which ensure quality and consistency for our customers. This position will receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
The work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with the potential for overtime hours as needed. The role is located in our manufacturing facility in Danbury, CT and reports to the Production Supervisor.
- Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including cylinder painting and paint removal, polishing VCR sealing surfaces, leak testing cylinders, wire wheeling cylinders, and building and processing new cylinders;
- Using manufacturing database software to enter, view, and update manufacturing data and to start and complete WIP orders;
- Perform rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies;
- May assist in developing methods to control or modify the manufacturing process;
- Work with engineers in conducting experiments;
- Ensure the safety of oneself and co-workers, while striving for zero safety incidents.
Successful candidates will typically have the following skill set:
- High School Degree or GED preferred;
- Experience working in a team environment a plus;
- Manufacturing experience and mechanical aptitude preferred;
- Ability to follow work instructions and follow safety protocol;
- Lifting requirements of up to 50lbs;
- Ability to rapidly respond to new situations and perform multiple tasks;
- Team player attitude with a desire for excellence and continuous improvement.
