Maquarie Equipment Finance – Credit Analyst

Macquarie's Corporate and Asset Finance Group (CAF) is a leading structured asset finance and leasing specialist.  It is responsible for the investment in and financing of capital equipment in industries where earnings flow from the use of these assets. CAF provides finance solutions for government and corporate markets and are one of the largest independent providers of operating lease finance in the Asia-Pacific region as well as having significant operations in Europe and the US. CAF has approximately 900 staff engaged in leasing and asset finance / lending activities in diverse asset classes across various locations through Australia, Asia, Europe, and North America.

Macquarie Equipment Finance (MEF) is a division of CAF that focuses on financing  a broad range of equipment  in a number of sectors. Business is generated across the full spectrum of customers and deal types, ranging from structured transactions for large publicly listed customers to small ticket SMB flow business supporting global vendor partners.

As part of the global growth strategy of the business, we are now seeking a Credit Analyst in our London team. They will report to the UK Credit Manager within MEF’s recently established small ticket SMB flow business.

The successful candidate will:

·   Research, prepare and decision credit applications both via a credit matrix and through structured credit analysis.

· Exercise a delegated credit discretion for MEF UK Flow transactions and demonstrate the ability to recommend those where a higher credit authority is required;

· Confidently be able to assess credit applications using only a credit bureau search and demonstrate an understanding of the data provided within these;

·  Liaise with various stakeholders in the business, introducer sources and where necessary directly with customers both face to face and by telephone;

.  Review and approve the accreditation of third party business sources in line with Macquarie policy and procedures:

·  Where necessary support other members of the MEF team including proposal submissions, raising documents and payouts

The suitable candidate will have:

·  Previous experience in both a credit and asset environment with significant exposure to leasing and asset finance including a previous credit discretion ;

·  A background in leasing  finance with experience in small ticket business platforms;

·  A thorough understanding of the UK equipment leasing market and participants;

·  Strong analytical skills including credit, accounting and financial analysis ;

·  Good negotiation and influencing skills ;

·  Flexibility, display commerciality and strong problem solving skills ;

·  A hard-working attitude and the desire to succeed in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment ;

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to effectively tailor communications to a diverse range of business and technical stakeholder groups ;

·  The ability to work well under pressure to provide timely and accurate solutions to business opportunities and challenges ;

·   Demonstrated that they are capable of working in a team, adopting a flexible work approach;

·   Excellent organisational skills and thrive in a busy environment ;

·   Displayed initiative, enthusiasm and commitment to a  role .
