Full Job Description
You will be working for a major player within the Lloyds and London markets, and they can therefore offer the progression, training and career development that you would desire. They deal with a wide range of clients, and give individuals the autonomy to build relations with clients, brokers, lawyers and loss adjusters.The job is fast paced and the main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Handling a large portfolio of claims from first advice to final settlement, specialising in Cross Class Marine.
- Appointment of relevant parties to ensure that the claim is dealt with in accordance to the nature of the claim, alongside the best interests of the client and monitoring the outcome.
- Entering claims on ECF-CLASS and monitoring agreements-queries
- Ensure that reserves are agreed with accuracy in correspondence to company policy and personal authority limit, are maintained vigilantly and kept up to date.
- Administration and correspondence with all relevant parties
- Liaise with claimants and extract all relevant information
- Ensure the products are displayed effectively
- Provide advice and guidance to customers as required
- Provide active support to management in the development of new best practises in line with strategy.
- Deal with Underwriter queries
- Setting up claims files
- Checking slips to ensure claims are covered and making sure any deductibles, warranties
The successful candidate will have a strong marine background, preferably at least 5-7 years and a sound knowledge of the marine insurance market. You will have recent experience handling - adjusting claims within either a London broker, insurer, or third party. You will need to be self-motivated, able to prioritise and take ownership of tasks.
