Stevens Capital Management L.P. ("SCM") is a registered investment adviser responsible for the overall portfolio management and trading of a $3 billion multi-strategy hedge fund with a lengthy track record of generating outstanding returns. SCM pursues a wide variety of investing and trading opportunities in virtually all of the world’s liquid financial markets. Located in suburban Philadelphia and employing approximately 75 professionals, we seek a talented and motivated individual for the following position:
Market Data Analyst
Join a team of financial software specialists responsible for the acquisition and management of financial and market data required for the trading and research activities of the Fund. The Market Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing the market data for reasonability and integrity for SCM's Trading and Research Departments. The role will involve market data quality management, requiring attention to detail and understanding of financial markets. The Analyst will cover a broad range of financial asset classes and related data. In addition, the role will be involved in the implementation process of new market data by means of exploring and cataloguing financial data resources on the web, initial investigations and high level quality assurance on data trials.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyzing data issues and assisting in the development of automated solutions.
- Assist in the implementation of data repairs and repair specifications.
- QA Tool building for the creation of periodic exception reports.
- Perform daily review of various data exception reports.
- Research market data issues and publish interpretation documents.
- Communicate with market data vendors and internal departments concerning financial data inquiries and issues.
- Be able to meet tight deadlines in a quick and efficient manner.
- Demonstrate strong problem solving skills, critical thinking and clear written communication.
Requirements of the Candidate include:
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis related to business, finance, accounting, math, statistics or actuarial science.
- Acquaintance with Relational Database and SQL or Access.
- Must be a strategic thinker, detail oriented, curious and highly numerate.
- The desire to work in an intense, fast paced, hardworking and committed environment with a talented team.
- Excellent communication skills.
Additional Assets
- Knowledge of markets and market data technologies including, but not limited to, Bloomberg, Thomson/Reuters, StandardPoors.
- Knowledge of any programming language a plus.
