The Client: a growing boutique Investment Bank in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Mandate: an emerging markets trader to set up and run a market making book will be servicing domestic and international institutional clients in a rapidly developing market.
The Role: Managing trading books with regards to positions, mark-to-market, PL, Risk and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Generate profit through speculative quote driven trading in Nigerian markets.
- Work with other traders and research staff to analyse market conditions and identify trading opportunities.
- Develop and maintain counter-party and broker relationships required to provide the Firm with maximum market coverage in the relevant term and market.
The Individual: the ideal candidates will have
- 2 – 5 years’ experience trading EM equities.
- demonstrable risk management skills.
- deep understanding of equity market valuations
- the ability to convey trading ideas and information articulately.
- A strong academic background is essential.
It would prove helpful, though not critical for the successful candidate to possess regional (West Africa) knowledge in equity trading.
