Position Summary:
Oversee a Retail Shopper Research team. Responsible for overall team/product quality, project efficiency, client satisfaction, and team/product profitability.
Responsibilities:
· Manage, cultivate, and develop professional services team members to maximize their potential (both capacity and quality)
· Lead in process changes to drive efficiencies
· Ensure that staff is fully utilized and work with counterparts within regional teams to solve for resource needs
· Collaborate with internal departments to implement and execute projects
· Lead the design and analysis of research results that deliver high quality actionable insights to clients
· Serve as a primary resource to Sales Staff and/or direct clients, providing design and costing/pricing support
· In partnership with the Sales Staff, consult with clients to understand their business needs in order to strengthen and deepen relationships and expand business opportunities
· Oversee research management staff deliverables and escalated operational team issues to ensure successful execution and implementation of research projects
· Understand all aspects of the execution process to be able to effectively champion efficiency efforts
· Develop research and reporting capabilities of research teams and ensures quality client deliverables (well written, addresses business issues, provides actionable insights)
Qualifications:
· Bachelors’ degree in Business, Marketing, Marketing Research or related field or equivalent experience
· Minimum 10 years of custom market research experience in a direct client service role required, supplier side experience preferred
· Strong custom market researcher with Shopper Insights experience
· Well versed in both online and face-to-face methodologies
· Some syndicated research experience preferable
· Well respected and has high credibility in the industry as a thought leader/researcher
- Has excellent written and oral communication skills
- Has previous management experience
- Is able to travel (one or two trips every other month)
- Lives in or willing to relocate to Chicago
- Proficient at Excel, PowerPoint and SPSS/SAS
