Market Risk On-Floor Support Role recruitment

Role overview:

A support analyst is needed to provide a portfolio of services including but not limited to first and second level support to Market risk business users on number of in-house developed and/or third party applications used in Risk department to calculate and report the market risk.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate(s) will be part of Risk IT production support team and need(s) to provide support on Risk IT application to market risk business users based out of London and New York on the floor. The key responsibilities are:

• Develop a thorough and deeper understanding of business function and Risk IT applications support.• Act as suitable point of contact for Risk IT applications' related issues/queries.• Improve the level of communication between business and production support team particularly in case of major incident(s) by acting as link between business users and IT.• Able to communicate effectively with business users in simple, clear and precise (business) terms and production support IT colleagues in IT terms to discuss the issue and potential workaround/resolution.• Provide personalized support services to business users on the floor and train junior business analysts on applications' functionalities.• Understand business justifications/requirements and provide suitable solution appropriately.• Take ownership of Incidents, complete root cause analysis and provide resolution within agreed time. Keep track of tasks and provide regular updates.• Demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills.• Proactively monitor scheduled jobs, batches, identify the area of improvements e.g. automating the manual monitoring process and implement them.• Communicate delays of batches/jobs to users and senior management proactively.• Escalate critical and high priority issue horizontally and vertically.• Produce and deliver weekly/monthly reports and trends metrics to drive the facts.

Additional duties and responsibilities The candidate is expected to start work relative early i.e at 7 or 8 AM or slightly late and finish work late at 7 or 8 PM. Support coverage on Public holiday and/or weekend activities could be asked by business users based on their need.

Qualifications/ Competencies

• degree in engineering/computer science/Business from a reputed university.• IT experience in support function in risk management (preferably) at middle or FO is required.• Strong communication skills to communicate IT issues in simple, clear and precise terms to business users.• Pro-active approach to identifying and resolving incidents and problems. • Working knowledge of Unix, Oracle, shell scripting, PL/SQL and weblogic• Knowledge of multiple technologies, Excel, VBA, C#, ASP.Net, Java, C++.• Experience supporting Java enterprises applications and CORBA middleware.• Thorough understanding of ITIL processes and guidelines• Excellent knowledge of Market risk management and reporting function.• Good understanding of risk management and measurement methodologies.• Understanding of various type of risks and their measurements• Familiarity with various types of VaR methodologies (Variance Covariance, Historical Simulation and monte carlo simulation).
