Market Structure Strategist recruitment
BlackRock Global Trading group provides global trade execution across asset classes for 3.4+ trillion AUM under BlackRock asset management. The Global Trading E-Trading and market structure team is tasked with enhancing trading execution ability to include best in class buy-side e-trading capabilities and to advance and define trading as it adapts to market structure changes as the financial markets re-engineer themselves to conform to Dodd-Frank Act and other regulations.
BlackRock's Global Trading - Etrading and Market Structure group is seeking a Market Structure expert that has knowledge and expertise on Dodd-FrankAct and its expected impact to liquidity and trading. The person will report directly to the Co-heads of E-trading and Market Structure. This role will require representation of BlackRock and BlackRock views and ideas in Industry groups and with strategic business partners. Strategic partners will include dealers, CCPs, exchanges, ECNs, SEFs etc. This position is based in New York City with some travel to other BlackRock locations.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for evaluating impact of market structure changes to Global Trading which may encompass regulatory changes or secular change
- Represent BlackRock view and buy-side impact in Industry meetings
- Work closely with strategic partners dealers, SEFS, CCPs etc to define buy-side needs
- Help evaluate and select strategic partners for BlackRock within these new entities
- Work closely with internal partners in technology, operations, etc to ensure business changes are determined from front to back
- Help partner with technology initiatives
- Contribute to market policy/process design
- Review legal and regulatory adherence as it relates to market structure and trading
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in Financial markets
- Knowledge of a broad range of fixed income asset classes
- Knowledge and experience within equities within the last 10 years a plus
- Knowledge and understanding of buy side model a plus
- Derivatives experience required
- Track record of interfacing with the Street
- Must be adaptable and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment
- Able to operate in a dynamically changing framework
- Intellectual capacity and analytical mindset
- Strong matrix management, mentoring, operational and communication skills
- Highly motivated; self-starter and good presentation skills
- Natural relationship building orientation; collaborative
