Marketing and Communications, Head of Digital Strategy
Position Description
The Head of Digital Strategy will be responsible for setting and delivery of a strategy for and technology supporting web, mobile and social media initiatives that supports the overall Marketing and Corporate Communications strategy at Morgan Stanley, including the development of a governance model that ensures the consistency of new digital initiatives across all business units. Reporting to the global head of Corporate Affairs, this person will work closely with communications, marketing, and technology team members to define the strategy and execute on firm-wide projects in each of these functional areas, ensuring that the company delivers best in class communications to a variety of key internal and external stakeholders in a consistent and cost-efficient manner.
Qualified individuals will:
Have an in-depth understanding of the landscape for digital, mobile and social media communications, including best practices and best in class capabilities amongst Morgan Stanley's broad competitor set;
Be able to create and deliver a strategy for digital and social media communications across a complex organization with various internal and external communications channels and audiences;
Develop and regularly report on key indicators to demonstrate the impact of the overall strategy or of a particular initiative
Skills Required
• Have demonstrable work experience and strong knowledge of the latest web tools/applications, mobile development, and social media platforms;
• Have experience building and managing a team of effective, independent resources (FTE and contractors) globally;
• Be self-motivated with the ability to successfully define and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously;
• Be equally adept at communicating with IT resources and senior business managers;
• Be capable of presenting to C-suite executives;
• Have demonstrated experience owning and managing a large budget;
• Be able and willing to jump into the details of any web/mobile/social media project to ensure the successful delivery of a defined strategy;
• Have experience advocating for and building support for projects across multiple business units, IT teams, and functional areas;
• Possess excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills;
• Enjoy analyzing web metrics and social media trends and be comfortable and effective working with little oversight and managerial support
Skills Desired
• The ideal candidate will be able to act as an internal consultant to lead the adoption of best practices both in terms of digital and social communications techniques, forums and platforms, and have the experience to lead projects and teams on the delivery of IT initiatives related to the digital and social media environment at Morgan Stanley.
