This position is responsible for a number of integrated marketing functions as outlined below, in order to assist with the process of executing the marketing plans for Corporate Finance (CF).  This position works closely with other members of CF and Corporate Marketing and utilizes the departments’ resources when appropriate. This position is also responsible for providing regular project updates to the Marketing Manager – Corporate Finance and the Chief Administrative Officer - Corporate Finance regarding product/industry objectives, strategies, timing and initiatives.

 

 

Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Ø  Conference and Event Support

This position will assist in the execution of the Houlihan Lokey Industry Conferences, working in conjunction with Corporate Marketing:

·         Marketing materials: content and distribution

·         Timelines and staffing

·         List management

·         Weekly meetings with working groups

·         Onsite management

 

This position will also be the event marketing lead for industry- and product-group client events (which could include database and guest list management, content and collateral as well as onsite management, as needed) as well as internal and external Webinars. In addition, this position may assist in special projects that may include negotiating sponsorship opportunities and identifying speaking opportunities.

 

Ø  Direct Response Campaigns/Database Management
This position is responsible for planning direct response campaigns and coordinating the execution of all direct mail efforts. Working in partnership with relevant industry groups and other members of Corporate Marketing, the Marketing Associate will assist with message creation/copy writing, defining scope of the effort, response vehicles, managing production, reporting and analysis.

 

This position will support the direct response campaigns and business development efforts of the CF industry and product groups by actively assisting in database setup for new officer hires and regular database review and analysis and working with Corporate Marketing to execute these reviews. The Marketing Associate will work with the CF industry and product groups to ensure that systems are being used effectively to support business development. This position is also responsible for the administration associated with CF’s implementation of ContactNet which is a critical tool used for database hygiene.

 

Ø  Marketing Communications
This position helps increase CF and industry groups’ image and exposure by working with other members of Corporate Marketing on advertisements (including copy writing, selection of imagery, working with Editorial and Compliance on reviews) and the production of marketing brochures, one-folds and tombstone slicks. This position is responsible for ensuring consistency in marketing materials, including copy and look-and-feel. This position will also help identify marketing trends, provide research and areas of media interest for ongoing initiatives. 

 

Ø  Marketing Plans, Budgets and Analysis
This position assists in the execution of each industry and product group’s marketing plan and budget by working with various members of Corporate Marketing. This position assists in performing necessary research prior to developing and executing a project to determine probability of success and perceived hurdles. Likewise, the position assists in performing post effort analysis, including developing and overseeing response reporting, budget reconciliation, explanation for any anomalies, determination of success or failure as well as communicating any additional intelligence gathered from the program.

 

In addition, this position assists in tracking and analyzing marketing expenses and the analysis, reconciliation and communication of these budgets to the various industry groups and management teams.

 

Ø  Internet/Web
Within the context of the HL brand, this position assists in planning, monitoring and overseeing the CF and industry groups’ Internet/Web efforts in conjunction with other members of Corporate Marketing to facilitate development, defining scope of the effort, traffic analysis and helping to identify business development and cross selling opportunities. Assist in monitoring content to ensure timely updates.

 

Ø  Special Projects
This position will assist in special projects that may include but not be limited to: identifying new opportunities for business development; researching and analyzing current marketing efforts in the larger context of the national organization; developing product and/or industry marketing and strategic plans; competitive research; and project tracking.

 

Position Requirements - Candidate must possess:

                 -       A solid understanding of brand management and marketing including direct and database marketing

-       Strong problem solving skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication proficiency

-       Meticulous attention to detail

-       Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management 

-       Proactive approach to executing new projects

-       An understanding of media relations and marketing communications strategies

-       Understanding of creative and design techniques and fundamentals

-       Flexibility - adapt to rapidly changing marketplace

-       Advanced Excel skills and a broad understanding of database applications
(SalesLogix familiarity is desirable)

-       High level of proficiency with MS Office

-       Availability for overnight and multi-day travel

-       Ability to work on site during industry-related events including set up and break down of those events

-       Understanding of the financial services sector

 

Self-starter who is able to work autonomously is a must.

 

Education – Minimum B.S. or B.A. required, preference in Finance, Marketing in Communications. High GPA and Honors are a plus. Strong references from current and past employers will be highly regarded.
