Job Description Responsibilities:
To develop and implement a Marketing Client Communications strategy for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management (MLWM) in Asia Pacific - to create timely, informative and targeted communications for key target audiences. Effective marketing communications will reinforce MLWM's key brand messages, promote capabilities and products and subsequently support the strategic goals of the business. Key responsibilities:
- Build awareness of MLWM's investment advisory capabilities via corporate, capability and product related communications.
- Promote MLWM's investment advisory expertise and help educate our clients via the "Insights" program.
- Promote MLWM as a smart and contemporary wealth manager via online platforms.
- Communicate the benefits of MLWM's capabilities and products by producing key messages, flyers, web content and capabiilty pitchbooks.
- Ensure consistency across all marketing and client communication materials Be seen as a 'trusted adviser' by the business.
Product/capability communications
- Provide input into product positioning and development of key messages to ensure relevance and consistency for target audience
- Deliver differentiated marketing collateral to maximise effective representation of the firms capabilities and/or products to its target audience - these may include key messages, investment process, 'PWM Dashboard' articles, research papers, fund profiles, product updates, educational articles, QAs, capabilities documents, 'case for' investing and any other ad hoc comms associated with campaigns.
Research and Thought Leadership
- Devise and deliver a program of 'Insights' pieces to build the profile of MLWM's investment advisory capabilities and promote MLWM as a leading wealth manager. Seek to leverage themes and topics across different markets to maximise efficiency.
- Program must reflect and support:
- Current and future product campaigns
- Topical market/industry trends and issues
- Client requirements
Digital Insights
- Develop the "Digital Insights" program and identify key speakers and topics in-line with sales objectives for key markets.
- Work with investment specialists / product teams to develop key messages and support 'scripting' - manage filming sessions to ensure messages are relevant and 'on script'.
- Develop written support material where appropriate.
Brand
- Partner with Enterprise Brand to ensure that MLWM's brand positioning is clearly and consistently articulated across all forms of communication - print, online and advertising, with key brand messages woven throughout.
- Manage and develop 'tone and style' guidelines for the business and ensure that key stakeholders are familiar with them and apply them.
Core competencies / experience:
Technical Skills
· Minimum of 7 years relevant communications experience
o Must include B2B and B2C communications experience through one of the key channels - Adviser or Institutional.
o Must include investment communications.
· Language Skills
o Fluency in English a must (both verbal and written). Native speaker preferred.
o Chinese writing skills highly desirable.
· Investment knowledge
o Knowledge and understanding of all asset classes.
o Ability to translate complex investment concepts into simple and compelling marketing messages.
· Market knowledge
o Financial services experience. Knowledge in wealth management, funds management and private banking.
o Knowledge and understanding of Asian market characteristics and nuances.
· Communication skills
o Demonstrated expertise in written communications - online experience is also desired.
o Ability to translate complex investment concepts into simple marketing messages with the appropriate tone, vocabulary and style for the audience.
o Understand the key drivers of target audience to maximise opportunity for effective communication of message.
· Project management skills:
o Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
o Attention to detail.
o Overcome roadblocks and issues through strategic thinking and ability to come up with alternative solutions.
