Role
The overall responsibility of this role is to provide support reporting to the Head of EMEA Marketing and Communications.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities are:
- Assist with the marketing and communications needs for the UK and EMEA, including the day-to-day media relations and news bureau needs from the business, in addition to the proactive deal outreach and media awareness efforts.
- Press office duties: Handle inbound media inquiries and coordinate responses with the head of EMEA marketing and communications. Provide support for broadcast media opportunities. Manage invoices and expenses. Take ownership of shared resources, databases and records to keep content up to date and relevant.
- Build and maintain strong media relationships with top tier and key trade outlets to facilitate proactive and reactive messaging and media management.
- Coordinate the preparation and implementation of media events, roundtables and press conferences. Develop PR materials, media briefing documents, press releases and manage spokesperson database including biographies and photography archive.
- Marketing: assist to execute on the Global Branding strategy though advertising campaigns and ad hoc activities designed to increase the profile of Jefferies.
Person Specification
The following skills and experience are required for this role:
- Solid professional experience in media relations and communications, or demonstrable transferable skills, and a good understanding of the marketing function.
- Strong foundation knowledge of financial services and/or investment banking, from an in-house or agency background is desirable.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication, in addition to strong Power Point, excel and presentation skills.
- Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise while working on multiple projects.
