Specifically, the Marketing Communications Manager - US Transportation Canada:
The Marketing Communications Manager, US Transportation / Canada is responsible for identifying and creating marketing communications and public relations opportunities, driving development, planning and implementation of efforts for the assigned market(s) and region(s). As a key member of the Communications team, this role will Interface with stakeholders from Sales, Product Management, Service, Programs, Government Relations, Technology and Site Heads.
Responsibilities include driving development, planning and implementation of marketing communications initiatives for the US Transportation market as well as serving as a generalist for Canada. The Marketing Communications Manager will utilize various integrated marketing channels including but not limited to: advertising, tradeshows/events, multi media, direct mail, email, print collateral, web and social media. This role requires a close liaison with a retained agency for public relations activities, including management of proactive and reactive media relations, press announcements, press events/conferences, and editorial contributions.
Additional responsibility includes support to product and business lines and internal external communications initiatives, including, but not limited to product upgrades, launches and discontinuations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Critical interface between business line members from Sales, Product and Communications teams and a key contributor to the development of marketing strategy, objectives, plans, and budgets for the assigned market and region
Collaboration between all members of the department focusing on teaming activates that leverages related market(s)/regional efforts
Develop, maintain and execute marketing, promotional, advertising campaigns and initiatives to help drive sales, product launches and brand awareness with Regional Head of Marketing Communications and stakeholders
Work with Creative Services team to fulfill design requirements for marketing efforts such as trade show graphics, print collateral, online and photo shoots
Determine tradeshow selections and pre/post show tradeshow promotions and sponsorships and work with events manager to ensure tradeshow presence, product showcase and logistical requirements are delivered on time and on budget
Working with external agency, drive and execute on public relations campaigns including product launches, sales announcements, proactive government relations efforts and press conferences, as well as execute reactive engagement and media response to current events, news, congressional rulings, etc..
Support Product Management with the Product Lifecycle Process, from market uptake activities through to end-of-life-cycle
Liaison with Site Heads relating to Corporate communication objectives
Budget management and reconciliation of regional marketing expenses to assist Regional Head of Marketing Communications in overall budget management
Work with management to define and measure effectiveness of marketing initiatives
Support other initiatives that assist in achieving overall business objectives
Comply with and ensure department compliance with all company, policies and procedures
Comply with all applicable company export control and security regulations
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
BS degree or higher in business or marketing
Experience
7+ years marketing, PR or communications experience through various marketing channels, ideally in a transport related department or industry, an airport or similar aviation environment.
Knowledge/Skills:
Preferred knowledge of the aviation or transportation security market preferred.
Advanced computer skills including Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication and copy writing skills needed as well as fluency in print, DM, multi-media, online,
events management.
Ability to manage a budget.
Can work independently yet within a cross-functional team.
Creative, solutions and results orientated attitude.
Highly detail oriented.
Some travel required.
