ABOUT JCHS:

The Jewish Community High School of Gratz College (JCHS) connects post Bar/Bat Mitzvah teens to the culture, traditions, and language of the Jewish people through formal and informal educational experiences rooted in Jewish values. Teens are engaged via a multiplicity of methodologies to customize their educational experience, fostering an appreciation for their social, emotional and intellectual needs and abilities. JCHS is regarded as a national leader in post Bar and Bat Mitzvah supplemental Jewish high school education. JCHS reaches teens at 9 sites in Greater Philadelphia, as well as Reading, PA and national affiliates. Recognizing contemporary teenagers’ keenness for communicating online, JCHS put its knowledge of teens and Jewish educational engagement together with technology to create JOLT – Jewish Online Learning for Teens, currently providing distance learning opportunities for teenagers in 13 states. JCHS is a division Gratz College, the first trans-denominational Jewish college in the United States.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

JCHS’ marketing goals over the next year are as follows:

·         build and maintain a robust database from which to market to and recruit prospective students to JCHS,

·         create and build brand awareness and

·         raise the profile of the school amongst prospective students and their families throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Such a database will provide JCHS the capability to market directly and continually to students, their parents and grandparents, as well as of other relevant constituencies dealing with Jewish teens. This will enable JCHS to raise awareness, generate excitement, interest and brand recognition throughout the community regarding its programs and benefits. The ultimate goal of such improved brand recognition is to increase the number of students JCHS is able to recruit and enroll. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Create and maintain database of prospective students, their parents, and grandparents within the current six county JCHS focus areas in Southeastern Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Berks).

·         Create and maintain database of other relevant constituencies dealing with Jewish teens, including but not limited to congregational rabbis, cantors, education directors, youth directors and advisors, education and youth committee chairs.

·         Acquire CRM tools and databases (i.e. salesforce, elogua).  All these services should be software-as-a-service so there will nothing to install internally.

·         Closely and regularly communicate with Gratz College’s Marketing Consultant to coordinate efforts, develop opportunities, assess duplication of efforts/redundancy, manage development of marketing collateral materials, and ensure compliance with Gratz College marketing standards.

·         Generate and execute campaign-oriented marketing activities to prospective students, parents and grandparents.

·         Produce and disseminate press releases, calendar requests, and communicate with media regarding publicity of newsworthy JCHS functions.

·         Develop and maintain marketing campaign through JCHS website and social media sites (Facebook, Google Plus, etc.)

·         Provide necessary support materials to the JCHS team (employees, committee members, supports) for dissemination and distribution, such as promotional items, press kits, etc.

·         Attend industry conferences as necessary.

·         Attendance periodically at evening and/or Sunday programs at locations throughout the Delaware Valley region.

·         Represents Gratz College in a manner that conveys professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, fairness, personal integrity, and respect for others.

·         Develop, maintain and leverage social media sites for on-going marketing efforts.

 

EDUCATION:

·         Bachelors degree in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising or related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:

·         Minimum of 3-Years full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience in marketing.

·         Experience working in an educational setting a plus

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Excel, Word and Powerpoint

·         Basic knowledge of HTML for creating and maintaining web pages and emails; Proficiency preferred

·         Good communication and interpersonal skills

·         Capability of working both independently and in team environments with a focus on meeting enrollment targets

·         An understanding of CRM systems, preferably salesforce.com, Elogua or similar services is desirable

·         Comfortable working with teenagers and familiarity with teen interests and culture.

·         A basic knowledge of Jewish communal structures is a plus, but not required.
