Job Summary The Marketing Graphic Designer Freelancer is responsible for translating demand-related concepts into end-products that visually align with the tenets of power positioning, Iron Mountain brand guidelines and best practices for driving results. This person will collaborate with subject matter experts and consult messaging guides to transfer objectives for a demand initiative into clear, actionable, concise design work for various personae and in multiple design channels. The Marketing Graphic Designer Freelancer will be utilized for over flow work from the in-house Marketing Graphic Designer on an as needed basis. This position is hourly rate/retainer-based, and the freelancer is expected to provide their own hardware or software to complete work requests in a timely manner. Essential Functions Design, layout, and produce promotional materials including HTML emails, web content, advertising, sell sheets, trade show displays, brochures, packaging, signage, and direct mail pieces. Design and produce visual communications in various media while meeting business objectives, technical and budget specifications. Determine proportion, arrangement and flow of textual, illustrative and other content, arranging layout based upon knowledge of design, layout and typographic communication concepts. Liaise with outside vendors to ensure a robust and consistent array of creative representation for the Iron Mountain Marketing Team regardless of whether the work was done in-house or out-sourced. Promote the use of templated design framework when applicable in order to reduce unnecessary complexity and time spent against design programs, ultimately delaying time-to-market. Job Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Undergraduate Degree (B.S. or B.F.A.) in Graphic Design or other related field. Successful candidate will have 4-7 years business-to-business design experience (corporate or agency). Experience with Corporate Vision s power positioning methodology preferred but not mandatory if contain strong writing and quick learning skills are present. Solid command of, and ability to integrate, a broad set of marketing disciplines including but not limited to: brand, web marketing, and print. Strong knowledge in pre-press, printing standards and Web standards. Proficiency with IT platforms including Macintosh, Microsoft Windows and Web browsers. Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, and Excel). Portfolio required for candidates who are selected for interview and must submit portfolio samples or web URL that illustrates candidate s experience. The successful candidate will have a strong achievement orientation, solid planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated results in a matrixed organization. Must be an independent self-starter with a sense of urgency and a strong desire to be part of building something new. Requires strong project management skills with an affinity for producing consistently high-quality work and yield with a customer focus. Creative thinking, critical analysis and problem-solving skills, along with flexibility/adaptability are essential - must possess comfort in a rapidly changing environment with competing and shifting priorities. Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor plus fluid communication and presentation skills with the ability to present and sell their work. Business Expertise: The person who fills this position must understand the revenue and market share impacts of their program efforts. Problem Solving: The role is expected to bring innovative solutions to the broad range of complex problems facing the organization. Ability to frame issues in clear, logical constructs, utilize segment knowledge and conceptual thinking is critical. Area of Impact: Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships quickly. Need to be able to leverage these relationships to sell ideas and complete projects quickly. Internal relationships will span the organization in both seniority (C-Level to staff) and business function. There will be a particularly close relationship between product marketing managers, campaign services and the area marketing manager team.
