The Marketing Investment Optimization role is a new position within Cards Sales Marketing. The Marketing Investment Optimization Head will focus on optimizing marketing spend, forecasting reporting, test learn, and transformation reengineering for the Cards Sales Marketing organization (CSM). This role will also provide leadership support for CSM which includes:

• Acquisitions Early Engagement
• Customer Channels Experience

• Customer Growth Strategies Marketing Operations
• Existing Customer Marketing

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and oversee a governance process with the senior leadership team in order to facilitate the strategic planning, drive to decisions, and ensure the timely flow of information across Cards.
• Drive a monthly investment and ROI-driven optimization process that enables swaps through a risk and opportunities framework.
• Partner with Proprietary Product Management, Co-Brands Loyalty, Cards Sales Marketing, Global Consumer Marketing Internet Office, Decision Management, and Finance to develop a disciplined framework of strategic, demand generation, and "lights on" expense management. Drive decisions that protect strategic focus on the future.
• Create a disciplined approach to Forecasting Reporting so that trends tie to decisions regarding marketing investments and planned financial commitments. Oversee tracking of internal/external funding, revenue, and network commitments. Drive closure of revenue/expense gaps.
• Ensure Cards Sales Marketing tracks and meets or exceeds milestones and financial benefits for strategic reengineering initiatives. Coordinate and drive new Transformation Reengineering initiatives for CSM that deliver significant short and long-term revenue benefits, while improving speed to market and establishing more streamlined, controlled processes.
• Oversee Test Learn framework for CSM to ensure business drives initiatives of significance that tie to overall business strategy/must-win-battles.
• Manage and inspire a high-performing team to achieve stretch targets; attract and recruit top talent.

Business and Technical Requirements

• 15+ years of management experience in consumer financial institutions
• Deep understanding of the changing economics and operational capabilities of a credit card business is an advantage combined with knowledge of the broader consumer financial business models
• Strategic and project management capabilities coupled with strong analytic and financial acumen
• Strong customer focus with track record of achievement in applying a customer mindset to shape solutions and approaches in order to realize marketplace potential and achieve financial goals.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency
• Broad knowledge of marketing, risk, regulatory environment and operations
• Strong knowledge of analytics and expertise in devising multiple financial solutions that solve for multi-faceted business problems (active accounts, risk, sales, ANR, revenue, ROI)
• Accomplished change leader: demonstrates a flexible approach and resilience to setbacks and is able to drive operating and culture change, long-term vision and leadership stamina to maintain course within a constantly changing environment
