Marketing Manager

Qualifications:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Marketing Manager- New Product (NPD) Business Development will lead marketing initiatives to meet the growth and profitability targets established for the CertainTeed and the Siding Products Group (SPG).

The incumbent will be responsible for the Management and coordination of SPG’s NPD process and have responsibilities for managing portions of the marketing budget. This individual will:

•Lead NPD projects, be responsible for developing and launching new products, development and implementation of launch strategy to include samples, literature, promotion, and advertising, analyze new business development opportunities,
•Identify and work with outside companies to identifies new business opportunities, draft and implement strategies (joint-ventures, private labels, co-branding...)
•Manage the NPD process
o Maintain the project pipeline,
o Refine NPD tools and processes
o Manage LiveLink administration,
o Train team representatives on NPD process
o Reporting to senior staff
•Manage and maintain our Voice of the Customer process,
o Develop the second generation of VOC,
o Develop focused customer surveys utilizing licensed on-line tools,
o Conduct ProDialogs,
•Assist with SKU rationalization process, manage new item/ product request number process,

The Marketing Manager will spend 20-30% of his time on Business support activities:
•Ensure accurate and on-time reporting to industry associations as well as internal reporting to internal audiences.
•Supports Marketing and Sales VP for business analysis (sales, forecast, market share…) and business plan/budget process.
•Represent Marketing on sales tools development (CRM, planning tools…)
•Market Research– Conduct research and prepare reports for the executive and marketing staff including: Ad hoc analysis on sales trends, volumes, profitability, revenue, and other Sales Tracker and GainShare related analysis. Ad hoc research on competitors and competitive products
•Feeds and maintain demand model to include competitive data and market share analysis
•Support department for mapping needs
•Coordination and development of group budget and business plan presentations, and manage our CRM program.

This person will spend a significant amount of time with the Regional Sales Managers, Territory Managers and Application Sales Specialists presenting the product offering, training for installation techniques and sales techniques to Distributors, Dealers, Contractors and Architects. This position is the significant driver of the sales growth. Immersed in the practical applications, the incumbent will work closely with RD and all other functions (manufacturing, finance, logistics...) to identify and develop additional applications and potential business opportunities designed to penetrate new segments and facilitate sales growth.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Communication, Business, or a technical degree with an MBA preferred. A minimum of 7 - 8 years in sales and marketing is required. Strong preference for project management experience is based upon the responsibilities of the position. Sales experience a plus. This position must incorporate marketing strategies and programs into real-world sales applications. Knowledge of web and data base driven technologies (Access, HTML, Java). Advanced PowerPoint skills.
