Marketing Manager- Events
Responsibilities include seeking input from internal sources and clients and prospects, providing input into the programme development in line with regional and global objectives; support and mentorship to peers in region on execution of events; and developing and adhering to best practices.
Main Responsibilities
- Ownership of marketing responsibility for delegated events, mentorship to peers for remaining portfolio of events, and global projects:
- Execution of a first class event portfolio in region
- Supporting development projects, including best practices, templates and process documents.
- Developing best practices, templates and process documents.
- Cooperating with segment and regional marketing/sales colleagues, in executing internal and external event programmes
- Monitor industry trends and the competitive environment
- Develop an understanding of the industry for our research and consulting offerings and the commercial issues client/prospect companies face
- Planning and delivery of marketing communications for events, as well as broader campaigns
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The candidate will be a graduate in either a Marketing or Business related discipline, and will have experience in managing product marketing and event programmes in a management position. Industry experience in the upstream oil gas and/or metals and mining industry would be desirable, as would business-to-business and/or professional services marketing. Strong understanding of product marketing and event execution including market research, product marketing, logistics, and client communications planning is essential. Experience with Salesforce software preferred.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of client needs in regards to the value in delivery of a community, event development programmes and strategic business planning. Strong project management abilities and an inquisitive nature are key, as is the ability to manage several simultaneous projects to tight deadlines. The applicant must also be experienced in working unsupervised across international regions and within a matrix organisation, and demonstrate strong project and budget management skills. The candidate will need to demonstrate a customer-focused attitude and be confident in dealing with senior management within the business and within client/prospect companies.
