Position Overview:
TheArchitectural AreaLighting (AAL) Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and execution of the overall Marketing program for theAALbrand including literature and media, publication, internet and direct mail advertising, public relations, trade shows, sales sample cases, social media, and strategic sales meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains current understanding of theAALproduct offering and market (via interface with Product Development and Sales as well as through industry involvement and proactive customer interface).
- Analyzes competitive print and electronic marketing and social media strategies and techniques and adjustAAL's approach in order to maintain a leadership position in the industry.
- Develops and implements theAAL Marketing strategy within the context of theAALStrategic Plan.
- Is responsible for overall brand identity, design framework and art direction.
- Establishes and maintains graphic standards for all brand marketing collateral and assure consistent adherence.
- Creates the Electronic marketing strategy (web presence) and social media strategy for the brand.
- Executes product promotion strategy
- Develops and implements Trade publication and direct mail advertising strategy.
- Directs and participates in the implementation of allAALMarketing initiatives.
- Plays a key role in the ideation, development, and marketing of new products for theAALbrand.
- Supervises the development and coordination of all product marketing collateral to support new product development, product line maintenance, strategic initiatives, brand correspondence, including all literature and media including brochures, specification sheets, sales guides, price sheets, sales bulletins, e-mail distributions, instruction sheets, PowerPoint Presentations, direct mail campaigns, videos, CD-ROMs, etc.
- Planning, creation, assembly and distribution of Kim Lighting sales sample cases (for A" product launches).
- Partners with the Product Manager to assure that the Marketing elements associated with a new product introduction are always in coordination with the design and manufacturing elements so as to produce a clean, timely, and coordinated rollout.
- Oversees all media buying and placement.
- Acts as primary point of contact with all publications, PR agent, etc. to acquire publicity for the brand.
- Authors and coordinate all AAL press releases.
- Negotiates favorable arrangements/contracts with vendors (photography, printing, Internet, etc.), consultants (graphic design, etc.) and service providers (media, Internet directory services, etc.) as required.
Education and Work Experience Required:
- A 4-year college degree is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Fine Arts or Business is preferred. Applicable design-related degrees are also acceptable.
- Lighting industry experience is preferred, but not required. Experience in outdoor lighting is a plus.
- Experience with national trade shows and sales meeting coordination is strongly desired.
- A minimum of five (+) years of experience in Marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design production or Public Relations is required. Sales interface experience is a plus.
- This position involves the direct and indirect supervision of personnel and requires interpersonal and management skill. At least three (+) years of personnel management experience or five (+) years of project management experience involving extensive interpersonal relations is required.
- General familiarity with current and historical HID, LED, Induction, and compact fluorescent components, technologies, materials and methods is a plus.
- Strong familiarity with Mac-based graphical design, publishing and imaging software si required. MS PowerPoint experience is desired. MS Project experience is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of, experience with and proficiency in office computer systems and softwareis required.
- Strong organizational and communications skills are a must. Extensive project scheduling and management skills are an absolute requirement.
- Strong presentation skills are also required.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 20% required. Travel is sporadic, usually in support of trade shows, which usually last approximately one week, including set-up and tear down.
