POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: Direct Marketing Manager
Department: Marketing
Position Purpose: Create, develop, implement, maintain and monitor the Door to Door Storage marketing initiatives. Increase market penetration measured by growth in call volume, lead generation, customer acquisition, and net revenue. Work toward achieving the revenue goals for Door to Door Storage. Ensure that our brand message and value drivers are effectively communicated through all marketing communications.
Key Goals:
1. Create and manage effective, profitable Direct Marketing, Customer Loyalty and Retention programs
2. Develop compelling collateral that promotes Door to Door’s unique brand message
3. Create and manage target marketing campaigns with internal stakeholders and branch management
4. Analyze customer sentiment through survey, satisfaction ratings and testimonials
5. Manage public relations resources and research opportunities for sponsorships and corporate giving
6. Coordinate trade show opportunities and manage them end-to-end
Essential Duties:
Direct Marketing/Customer Loyalty and Retention
1. Own all Direct Marketing activities for Prospects, Current and Past Customers
2. Develop project scope by communicating with internal/external stakeholders
3. Execute Change Request (CR) to facilitate internal processes
4. Create and manage email/direct mail campaign distribution
a. Compile lists
b. Create email text and imagery (graphic design)
c. Scrub and standardize lists for distribution, manage unsubcribes
d. Release emails through online providers (Stream Send, Vertical Response, etc.)
e. Measure/report on campaign effectiveness and provide results to SVP Marketing and Sales
f. Update Market Map
Collateral Development
1. Serve as liaison between internal DTD stakeholders and external creative resources
2. Create mock ups for internal approval and submission to creative review
3. Own relationship with creative, printing and mailing services
4. Execute CR and distribute to affected departments
5. Ensure that Brand Image and Messaging are maintained through all channels (Brand Police)
6. Measure performance data and provide results to SVP Marketing and Sales
7. Update Market Map with current and future releases
Local/Target Marketing
1. Complete weekly competitive intelligence reports
a. Research moving and storage pricing for branch locations
b. Compile promotions and special offers
2. Analyze opportunities for ROI and present findings to SVP of Marketing and Sales
3. Create and distribute collateral including
a. Door Hangers
b. Postcards
c. Brochures
d. Thank You cards
4. Own review/approval process by working directly with internal stakeholders to ensure all project goals are met
5. Execute CR and distribute to affected departments
6. Create regional promotional campaigns and coordinate with internal stakeholders
7. Measure performance data and provide results
8. Create vertical marketing plans and develop supporting tools for ROI
9. Update Market Map with current and future releases
Customer Surveys/Satisfaction/Testimonials
1. Compile survey recipients and distribute daily
2. Create and distribute internal Open Door communications to all Door to Door employees
3. Create branch/employee incentive report and distribute to HR for payment
4. Create department level reports calling out successes and opportunities
5. Collect customer testimonials and post to DTD website
6. Gain permission from customers to use testimonials
Public Relations/Sponsorships/Corporate Giving
1. Create and develop all DTD Press Releases and coordinate distribution with public relations resource
2. Collect edits/approval for press release content from CEO, SVP of Marketing and Sales, and Digital Marketing Manager
3. Add all press releases to doortodoor.com via CMS once distributed
4. Evaluate Sponsorship opportunities for ROI and Corporate Giving goals
5. Manage promotions and sponsorships with project originators (Branch Managers, Customer Service, etc.)
6. Measure and report results of sponsorships and promotions to Senior Management and Marketing team
Trade Show Support
1. Research potential opportunities and present them to internal stake holders
2. Work with SVP of Marketing and Sales to determine scope
3. Coordinate all aspects of events including but not limited to registration, travel arrangements, collateral creation, promotional products, giveaways, etc.
4. Compile contacts and results
5. Develop follow up programs

Qualifications Required:
1. 4 –year degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Business Management, or related field or equivalent experience
2. 3-5 years of direct marketing experience with responsibility for creative development and implementation
3. Track record of hands-on successful implementation of diverse marketing campaigns that increased revenue and profitability
4. Proven successful experience targeting market segments and implementing new marketing initiatives to penetrate identified segments
5. Background in executing effective marketing communications including press relations, print advertising, collateral, direct marketing, and event marketing
6. Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal skills in order to communicate and gain support for company’s marketing vision with local and remote teams, other management members
7. Solid team player focus, with cooperative and supportive skill sets when working with executives and peers
8. A high level of analytical skills, working knowledge of computers and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
9. Computer literate in Microsoft Office, graphic design programs, and database management
Compensation: Exempt, Salaried; paid bi-weekly
