Position Overview:
Responsible for market development and profitability for the PL Colorants North American region. Will develop and implement plans for profitable growth to meet budget objectives. Identifies key areas for market and product development to ensure long term profitability. Assists marketing director with day-to-day product issues, new launches, and pricing strategy to include increases and surcharges. Analysis each month of sales, markets and product trends for opportunities regarding new segments, applications and products. Support marketing director with advertising, trade shows, and new supporting marketing collateral. Supports sales director with customer calls and objectives. Supports distributor manager with issues related to new segments and product issues. Detailed monthly reports, business plan development, white papers, and launch concepts required.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Identify key areas for sustainable market and product development, to ensure long term profitability (i.e.- current products to new markets, new products to new markets).
- Analyze sales, market and product trends for opportunities and threats regarding new applications, services and products.
- Identify potential product, packaging, technical support needs of new segments.
- Product management: regularly monitors sales revenue, margins, inventory levels and costs in accordance with budget objectives.
- Day-to-day requirements: respond to needs of sales force, customers, Distributor Manager and Technical managers in a systematic manner.
- Adhere to profitable pricing guidelines, based CM1 objectives. Authorize special pricing programs, pricing strategies and price increases as needed.
- Create launch concepts and carry out strategic plan in accordance to timelines for new products to new segments.
- Advertising creation and trade show investigations; assist Marketing Director to develop marketing collateral (literature, brochures, presentations, etc).
Candidate Qualifications and Experience:
- Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Must have 5 years marketing management experience.
- Must have technical / sales experience.
- Must have Coatings and / or colorants background.
- Must be a self starter with a degree of entrepreneurial skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and organize tasks.
- Position also requires computer skills (especially SAP, MS Office) and problem solving ability.
