Marketing Manager recruitment

The Marketing team at Alexander Forbes has grown considerably over the last year and now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing manager to join the team. As a marketing manager, you will be responsible for planning and delivering the core marketing activity within the department and working with the Head of Marketing to develop marketing strategies for the group.  

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Managing high profile marketing activities and project manage them effectively. The channels used are diverse and will include direct mail, client newsletters, press advertising, events, corporate sponsorships, marketing collateral etc. These will need to be developed within pre-agreed budgets and timescales and where appropriate measure ROI to help shape future activity.

• Working with the Online Marketing Manager to ensure websites are up-to-date with campaign activity and the creation of email marketing activity to support campaigns.

• The successful candidate will have budget responsibility and will be encouraged to make recommendations as to where marketing investment should be focused.

• Alexander Forbes is currently rebranding, with the aim to complete this by the end of the year. This project is ongoing and requires all marketing teams’ involvement. This will be a key goal for the successful candidate to deliver and ensure brand consistency. 

• Managing marketing agency relationships (e.g. deigns, media) and ensuring work delivered is on brief.

• Working with the product owners and technical content, you will also be expected to write copy and to oversee your teams output. 

• Managing a team of marketing executives and assistants who cover event management, print and client/prospects/internal communications.

• An involvement with training staff on campaign management along with tracking and reporting.

• Alexander Forbes parent company is in South Africa and you will be expected to develop a working relationship with key members of the South African marketing department.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in developing integrated campaigns in a B2B focused environment. You will present impeccable communication skills and possess the confidence needed to engage and manage relationships with senior stakeholders. With a good knowledge of financial services, you will be keen to grow and develop in your career.

• From a graduate calibre or equivalent marketing qualifications  

• At least 5 years marketing experience ideally in the financial industry (more specific IFA/pensions/advisors) doing a similar role with multi-channel track records

• Experience of budget ownership

• Experience of working within a B2B environment with campaign management approach
