The Air Conditioning Systems and Services business of Ingersoll Rand provides heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems that enhance the quality and comfort of the air in homes and buildings around the world. Its offerings, under the Trane and American Standard Heating Air Conditioning brands, include energy efficient systems, service and parts support and advanced building controls.
The Portfolio Manager – Air Handlers will be responsible for maintaining a leadership position and driving dramatic growth within the Residential Solutions’ HVAC portfolio. The person filling this role will manage the product portfolio (new and existing products and services) throughout its lifecycle. The position is responsible for defining the go-forward strategy for the product portfolio. Responsibilities include portfolio management, new product development, innovation, productivity, advanced technology needs and identifying acquisition opportunities. He/she will understand our customers and channels and develop a product portfolio to meet the customers’ existing and emerging needs. The successful candidate will be a world-class leader with a proven record of creatively profitably growing product lines through disciplined portfolio and innovation management processes tools.
This position is the owner of the Trane American Standard Residential Air Handler Product Portfolio responsible for:
- Owning the product portfolio PL (horizontal PL across all channels/markets)
- Margins / Share of Market / Revenue / Costs / Unit Sales
- Leading the team through the product line review process to ensure portfolio gaps are articulated and action plans are developed to address
- Developing and executing on the Multigenerational Product Plan (MGPP)
- Effectively managing the product portfolio through the product lifecycle
- New Products / Existing Portfolio / Obsolete Products
- Developing and executing rationalization strategies to optimize the portfolio
- Developing and presenting new business opportunities
- Defining the competitive landscape and developing competitive product data to clearly articulate the category value propositions
- Collaborating with sales, channel marketing and strategic marketing to insure proper messaging, positioning and channel execution
- Collaborating with the operations team to optimize and execute global manufacturing footprint plans
- Defining category quality and reliability expectations
- Leading and managing a team (direct indirect) inclusive of multiple positions and locations
- Driving top line margin expansion

Education/Experience:
- 10+ years experience in marketing and/or product management environment with responsibility for NPD and life cycle management, a track record of success in relevant markets is strongly preferred
- Strong demonstrated business acumen and financial acumen (Previous PL experience a plus)
- Experience working with Operations, Engineering, and Sales organization in the Product Management process
- Bachelors degree required(MBA preferred)
