Position Description:
As a Mass Properties Engineer within Systems Engineering, you will work with lead engineer in defining allocated mass at the beginning of a new program, calculate mass properties of selected spacecraft equipment, including the generation of sequenced mass properties. You will also perform actual weighing and mass data collection, and generate and maintain mass properties database of information, periodically determine mass budget and prepare mass properties reports. Other aspects of the job will be to provide technical consultation to subsystems engineering to control the mass of their products, review designs and reports of engineering personnel to provide technical analysis of the mass, center of gravity, moments of inertia and products of inertia.
Position Requirements:
a. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a project as part of a team of specialist engineers.
b. One to Three years aerospace experience, one year mass properties experience preferred.
c. Knowledge of mass properties engineering and application of computer-aided design/engineering (PRO-E, preferred), MS Office skills required.
d. BS degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
