Master Quality Assurance Technician Job in Dayton 43026, Ohio US
Manufacturing Client is seeking Master Quality Assurrance Technicians. A Quality Assurance Technician ensures that quality control and product liability standards are constantly and consistently maintained
- Monitors and performs daily activities within the production area(processing/ packaging/ testing/ sampling) to ensure food safety practices are being followed
- Provides documentation of all checks and test results
- Monitors, completes, and maintains efficient and accurate paperwork as needed
- Communicates with management of product testing, trends, and deviations. Recommends process adjustments.
- Places raw material on hold when found to be unacceptable, provide updates on any hold status to all necessary departments
- Assists production associates with line product monitoring as required
- Performs set-up, calibration, inspections and monitoring of QA equipment
- Audits product processing and evaluate finished product for all attributes as specified within the product specifications
- Assures retention samples when required by RPC are collected
- Maintains an awareness of General Manufacturing practices and participates in all activities related to product safety, product in process, and finished product
- Assists in orientation and/ or training of associates on assigned tasks as requested
- Ability to understand the general basic knowledge of all products produced, their ingredients, and product quality specifications required
- Works on other duties as assigned
Union Position - 2nd shift 2pm-10pm.
- A Quality Assurance Technician must have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field is required.
- 3 years experience in food manufacturing preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills, good organization skills
- Strong mathematical, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Advanced proficiency with computer software (Excel, Word, Access)
- Be aware of Safety Rules and Regulations
- May be required to operate normal Lab equipment and/ or have State Lab certification
- Basic business requirements, such as attendance, punctuality, good work habits, and good personal hygiene.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs
- Daily activities include walking, standing, climbing, reaching, twisting, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, grasping, and balancing
- Will be required to work in freezers and near noisy machinery as part of daily production activities
- Exposed to elements- cold/ heat/ humidity
- Keep high level of concentration, work under pressure and at a fast pace for extended periods of time
- Able to work in multi shift environment
- Will be required to work around baking ingredients as part of daily activities
