To provide technical and administrative assistance to the Materials Department

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure customer releases are accurate

Work closely with production teams to determine long term strategic plans.

MaintainChanging MRP/ERP

Track finished goods, semi-finished goods components inventory levels

Use and upgrade required software to perform job responsibilities

Analyze requirements to determine production schedules and estimates through SAP

Update part release requirement data base from customer releases

Analyze releases to determine shipping schedules and estimates through SAP

Maintain and operate all divisional electronic data interchange (EDI) systems related to supplier and customer communications

Maintain supplier rating system per customer requirements and Business Operating System

Maintain parts and assist with development of bill of material and routings; communicate changes

Assist the IT department with hardware and software updates related to departmental activities as needed

Customer returns

Work with accounting, purchasing to develop our inventory system

Serve as back up to Logistics Area Leader and other department associates

Assist Logistics Manager with all reporting requirements as needed

Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example

Promote and facilitate Open Door process and Fair Treatment

Participate in Continual Improvement activities

Adheres to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies

Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction

Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, business correspondence, instructions, procedures and guidelines

Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, suppliers and customers

Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact

Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations

Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Able to work flexible hours supporting three (3) shifts

Able to calculate figures and amounts

Excellent understanding of personal computers and MS Office, CMS and customer supplied software

 

Education and Experience

Associate Degree required

Experience in the automotive industry required

Experience in a material planner role

MRP/ERP Systems experience

Candidate should have in-depth knowledge of MRP/ERP Systems, Material flow process, Lean, Continuous improvement and excellent organizational skills.

Prior demonstrated experience using personal computers in a work environment including Excel and Word software

 

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily office and includes manufacturing plant. The environment is high pressure and requires extreme accuracy and attention to detail.

The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with team members, leaders, customers and suppliers.
