Material Planner
POSITION SUMMARY:
The two primary purposes of the Material Planner are:
1. Planning Procurement - ensuring the timely and accurate flow of chemicals and components into the Estee Lauder and Third Party facilities.
2. Supply Management - managing and measuring supplier performance, using specific commodity expertise to negotiate deliveries/priorities/capacity/production to meet Estee Lauder service needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct Procurement - analyzing and actioning purchase requisitions.
- Balance supply with demand by managing exceptions/alerts and Days of Supply data.
- Liability ownership coordination between Material Planner and Suppler Planner.
- Review and action expiring materials.
- Inventory management of chemicals and components, including de-expediting and root cause analysis using Delfor.
- Capacity analysis of critical suppliers.
- Performance management and performance reporting for critical suppliers.
- Communicating accurate delivery information in SAP by enforcing Supplier PO Confirmations and Supplier ASN Compliance.
- Managing in the Quality Notification Process including SAP task assignment, returns, rework and supplier chargebacks.
- Negotiating deliveries and production time with suppliers; communicating bottlenecks internally within EL; coordinating priorities with EL brands, RD and recommending capacity/sourcing requirements to GSR.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree
- Minimum of 5 years related experience.
- Focus in Supply Chain or Business Administration is preferred but not essential if the candidate has at least 2-5 years of related work experience.
- A strong knowledge of Supply Chain fundaments, the MRP Process, and Inventory Management techniques are essential. Experiencing using multiple complex database systems (such as: SAP, Manugistics, AS400) is also critical.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel is important.
- A maximum of 5% travel for Supplier visits is expected for Material Planners.
