Airborne and Maritime Systems (AMS) develops, fields and sustains systems and infrastructures to connect disparate systems and enable network-centric operations. Major programs include Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN), Common Link Integration Processing (CLIP) and JICO Support System (JSS).

Position to provide Logistics Data Management for the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) and Mobility Air Force Dynamic Retasking Capability (MAF DRC) programs. Tracks the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements. Status customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet objectives. Supports execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions. Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives. Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position. Applicant's duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.
  • Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.
  • Review database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
  • Maintain security and integrity controls.
  • Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitor transaction activity and utilization.
  • Develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
  • Implement RFID and barcode solutions for Material Management and Distribution.
  • Lead a team of data management professionals in database development and implementation, and software applications installations.
  • Extensive experience in warehousing solutions, barcoding implementation, and RFID engineering is highly desirable

    Years of experience are acceptable in lieu of a degree.

    Basic Qualifications:
    Typical Minimum Education / Experience: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters

    Must have or be able to obtain a secret clearance. Uses standard desktop (PC) computer Windows-based tools to produce original documents including plans, procedures and reports. Position may require travel as needed. This position requires physical ability to manuever around equipment in test labs and on ships and aircraft. Manual dexterity sufficient to use keyboards and control panels.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Should be well organized, effective working independently as well as in a group environment, able to handle multiple assignments and possess good oral and written communication skills. Should be detail-oriented and possess a strong understanding of commitment to the overall mission. Should possess the ability to learn and follow established processes, procedures, and requirements. A strong personal work ethic is required to support multiple programs in a dynamic and extremely fast paced environment.
