ATK Aerospace Systems currently has fulltime opportunities for an entry-level Materials and Process Engineering Specialist Use material and process expertise as key contributor in design, development, and production teams to create sound technical solutions that satisfy all requirements (technical, cost, schedule). Specific roles and responsibilities will include: - Define and manage Material and Process specific Standards - Owners of the Specifications and Usage guidelines - Develop and maintain Library of preferred materials and suppliers - Champion development of and own Material data books - Rapid Materials Point of Contact for critical production, test, and supply issues - Champion Projects to standardize and centralize materials, processes, and specifications across components, Value Streams, customers, and campuses through partnerships with Supply Chain and Programs - Develop MP presence and standard work throughout the Design Process - Create Materials Strategic Plan that focuses on our future business environment - Address obsolescence - Identify new technology on-ramps - Consolidate and centralize Effective execution will require regular coordination, communication, and effective teaming with other organizations including Design, Supply Chain Management (SCM), SMA, Program Offices, Operations, Product and Component Teams, etc. Education: Experience Requirements: MS, PhD Material Science, Metallurgy, or Chem E required Desire material science specialists with a complementary understanding of process system interactions, design criteria, and component characteristics. Engineers or scientists that would best fit the MP role should be flexible and have a broad perspective of the business needs, technical requirements, process parameters, and system constraints. Folks with experience dealing with material qualifications and supply chain processes are a plus. Prior experience or emphasis in composites, phenolics, or polymers preferred, in addition, hands on experience with materials desireable such as lab work, analysis, testing, and characterization.
