The Role - Materials Controller
To ensure that all materials and ingredients are available to meet production plans and to meet agreed stock holding levels. Some key activities include:-

• To ensure productivity targets are met on a consistent basis.
• To ensure stock control systems are up to date.
• To produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, as defined by the Planning Logistics Manager.
• To ensure effective and timely communication with other departments across the site.
• To be responsible for analysing MRP, placing orders with suppliers and ensuring continuity.
• To work closely with NPD / Technical / Planning teams to ensure successful launch of all new products by managing materials and supplier base.
• To develop supplier appraisals and focus on improving service, quality and supply chain efficiencies.
• To evaluate and improve operational performance within own areas of responsibility.

THE CANDIDATE
A great team player- a robust decision maker with the ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately

You'll need :-
• Good understanding of Supply Chain procedures, preferably from either end of supply chain
• Experience within FMCG background preferred although not essential
• Good people management skills - lead, motivate and manage performance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective influencing skills - both internally and externally
• Good IT skills for accessing, analysing and reporting data (Excel, SAP)
• Confident decision maker
