Materials Management Analyst - Chicago area
POSITION SCOPE
This role is responsible for reviewing daily inventory reports to aid in replenishing materials in multiple facilities. The analyst will also review past sales activity as well as forecasted activity to aid them in the replenishment process. The analyst will build relationships with our suppliers and follow up on back ordered and production delayed goods. The analyst will be responsible for vendor scorecards indicating service and quality performance. The analyst will maintain periodic check-ins with the markets to ensure material supply and cost effective logistics. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Finance Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage inventory to reorder points, minimums and maximums
- Understand and maintain the required safety stocks for both domestic and import products
- Analyzes sales and stock levels to ensure that reorder recommendations made by the replenishment system reflect the sales trend
- Analyze seasonality of product
- Follow up on aged purchase orders and backordered materials
- Participates in scheduled calls with suppliers and internal customers
- Provide fact based decisions by analyzing data
- Maintain Supplier and Market Performance scorecards
- Coordinate and implement corrective and preventive action plans to ensure optimal logistics and material management operations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Prior inventory replenishment experience required
- Strong sense for customer service and working through issues related to ensuring material delivery and availability for markets/customers
- Working knowledge of merchandising and/or replenishment systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Critical thinking ability; exceptional trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
- Strong mathematical skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with various levels of management
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Education: High School Degree or GED required.
Computer Knowledge Requirements: MS Outlook, Access, Excel, Word and Power Point
