Manager, Materials / Sales Operations Planning Process
TE Connectivity's Application Tooling Division is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and sale of application tooling solutions for interconnect customers worldwide. http://www.tooling.tycoelectronics.com We are currently in search of an experienced Materials Manager for our Harrisburg, PA location.
Requirement:
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership / direction globally to Materials Control Supervisors and locally to (in plant) Value Stream Team Leaders and staff
- Create / implement / sustain effective Sales Operations Planning process within the Application Tooling division
- Confer with product managers to forecast demand and create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products (supply mirrors demand)
- Team with Value Stream Team and Purchasing / Sourcing leaders to optimize the internal manufacturing and external procurement of materials
- Globally manage inventory to achieve working capital targets
- Establish priorities for existing manufacturing plans, accommodate changing customer requests and to insure that the overall plan remains consistent with established billing objectives and plant capacities
- Timely implementation of the unit's various monthly manufacturing load by facility
- Responsible for the ongoing review of product line, and the implementation the systems and activities that are necessary to support these forecasts in systematic demand reviews
- Support and promote global sourcing initiatives driven by procurement / sourcing team – collaborate with procurement on effective phase-in / out strategies
- Provides operations with an analysis of the upcoming production period and make recommendations in order to balance labor and machine requirements
- Responsible for acquiring a working knowledge of all facets of manufacturing
- Generates periodic reports or studies on subjects such as inventories, vendors, capacities, tooling, raw material, bookings, billings, inventory planning, warehousing, material handling, etc
- Perform analysis of data in conducting such studies, make appropriate recommendations on such analysis, lead implementation of recommendations
- Coordinates the resolution of inventory discrepancies, determines causes and implements solutions
- Mentor team members in understanding MRP, procurement and contractual business concepts, supply chain relationship and implementation strategies, negotiation and contractual planning execution techniques
- Develop, execute and maintain budgeting and staffing requirements
Qualifications include:
- 5+ years of experience in logistics / supply chain management - preferably with a global organization
- 5+ years experience in production control, materials management (APICS Certification desired)
- Proven record leading people - experience working with global teams and executing materials / supply chain leadership with international business acumen
- BA/BS in Business/Logistics, Supply Chain Mgt or related field
- Proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel and Access
- Able to mentor and develop people on the team
- Ability to cope with ambiguity complexity
- Must be able to travel domestically internationally (30% ) -able to travel from US/Harrisburg PA to mfg plants several times per month; internationally every 3-6 months (Europe / Asia)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and relationships while remaining focused on the key deliverables
- Reach closure on tasks/projects on tight time schedules
- Strong leadership with interpersonal influencing skills
- Excellent global communication skills (multilingual skills - European and/or Asian languages desirable)
- Attention to detail, computer literate, knowledge of accounting principles and how they impact profits
- Strong managerial, negotiating, administrative, organizational and time management skills
