Materials Manager/Planner Job in Miramar 33029, Florida US
Williams Scotsman, Inc., a leader in the mobile office and modular building business, is seeking a Materials Coordinator. With over 90 locations throughout the US and Canada, we maintain one of the largest mobile office and storage unit lease fleets in North America, serving customers for more than 50 years.
The Materials Coordinator will track and manage inventory, purchasing and delivery of materials, according to company policies and processes. The incumbent will work with Senior Branch management to plan, develop and control material costs, to deliver high quality products to customers.
Responsibilities include:
· Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries, minimizing carrying costs and transportation charges
· Oversee the purchasing and/or contracting for materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the operation of the company
· Prepare instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures ensuring honest, fair, and ethical relationships with vendors
· Works to achieve Company and Project objectives in regard to budgets and schedules.
· Manage the relationships with the supplier base.
· Research and development of materials and services that will improve fleet quality and lower maintenance costs.
· Assure that all system material transactions are timely and accurate, and include all materials used, including out-of scopes.
· Work closely with Safety to ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies.
Ideal candidates will have:
· High School Diploma or equivalent, (College Degree preferred).
· 3-5 years demonstrated experience in purchasing, quality or materials management experience is required.
· Experience with MS Office.
· Experience with using a computerized materials management system is a plus.
· Strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
· Experience with Lean fundamentals is a plus
