Materials Planner/Buyer Job in Darenth, Southern UK
My client based in North Kent is seeing an experienced Materials Planner/Buyer. The ideal candidate will have good analytical skills and be able to plan and schedule the purchase and shipment of goods from suppliers into the UK.
Skills/experience required:
· Able to produce stock requirement forecasts and analysis
· Able to ensure stock levels are maintained to agreed levels for the whole group
· Deal with stock replenishment
· Develop and maintain approved supplier list
· Prepare purchase orders
· Place stock orders to suppliers
· Arrange and manage shipping
· Investigate an deal effectively with stock discrepancies liaising with supplier to resolve outstanding issues
· Prepare forecasts and make recommendations regarding inventory levels and stock orders
· Excellent analytical skills
· Excellent computer skills – Word and especially Excel
· Good attention to detail
· Numerate and literate
· Able to work to deadlines and multi task
· Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills
· CIPS/higher level education – desirable
· Warehouse and stock control management – desirable
· Purchasing and progress chasing – desirable
· Import/Export knowledge (Far East) – desirable
· Computerised stock control knowledge
