Materials Project Leader

This Materials Project Leader is instrumental in developing and driving multiple initiatives within the Fulfillment organization to ensure consistent processes and tools are being utilized to generate the most effective business results across the region.  The position plays a key role in supporting multiple US manufacturing facilities to improve Raw and In-Process material flow and availability through the effective use of manufacturing systems. The position will also develop and roll out standard tools to drive improvements in fulfillment to the end customer while reducing inventory.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (others may be added):

* Create and deploy materials playbook and system tools.
* Drive global inventory planning implementations.
* Responsible for raw material order practices (MRP, Kanbans, Pick to order, etc.).
* Drive material flow through the PFEP initiative.
* Supporting the regional inventory turns monthly review meeting.
* Support the implementations of controlled stock rooms.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Type:  Business or Engineering

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering and at least 7 years work experience in materials management within a manufacturing environment required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS or KNOWLEDGE:

* APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) required or hiring commitment to obtain in first 18 months of employment.
* Managerial experience focusing on standardizing planning execution, reducing sourcing complexity and talent development.
* In-depth knowledge of computerized integrated information systems (manufacturing, materials management, production planning, procurement and distribution) and a superior understanding of manufacturing material flow in a plant.
* Must possess strong analytical skills in developing and managing transcational data mined from plant manufacturing systems.
* Must be a proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to build and maintain a team oriented environment while leveraging lean methodologies.
* Must have solid interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate plant level staff and to interact with various departments throughout the organization.
* Must be a flexible, decisive and proactive problem solver.
* Must know how to influence bottom line results.
* Must be a strong communicator and possess strong organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple priorities at once.
* Must be able to work well in high pressure, fast-paced environment and be proficient at conflict resolution.
* Must be proficient in information technology systems utilized in Materials Management.
* Experience with rate-based or flow line (non-MRP) and job shop manufacturing environments.
* Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.
* Experience with visual management systems.
