SUMMARY - 2nd shift
Assist in the management of all material inbound and outbound traffic related activities to ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials and services. Supports manufacturing operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage the flow of materials between plants and off-site stored materials. Update PFEP database with required information
- Manage to the budget of equipment leases and repairs and purchases of material handling equipment and storage racks
- Participate in the review and goal setting for the materials personnel
- Review all safety incidents and work with both the Safety department and materials personnel to prevent accidents
- Train employees on the process for charges, rejects, consumption of materials, Kanban, and RF equipment
- Review daily shortages due to inventory errors and determine causes and corrective actions
- Organize and execute special inventory counts
- Other materials-related projects and assignments as required
- Audit vendor managed inventory programs to assure the company is not overpaying for value received
- Coordinate with Purchasing as appropriate in regards to order points and replenishment quantities. Maintain all Kanban cards
- Assist the PFEP Manager in establishing material flow routes, route layouts and material handling methods for delivery, and storage of material
- Assist the PFEP Manager in standardizing return containers program
- Monitor inventory levels at assigned plant to include safety stock, WIP, obsolete, and production stock
- Support Zone Teams as required
- Work with Industrial Engineers to layout work areas
- Work with supply base to establish Kanban and other alternative procurement methods
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering or related field
- Three plus years of related work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma and Project Management
- Experience with MPRP and Kanban procurement methods
