Materials specialist / Welding specialist
Your tasks and responsibilities
■ It is part of your work as a Metallurgist to discover technical issues and you are able to provide suitable solutions;
■ Evaluate en recommend technical solutions on metallurgy and material issues for projects, both in the engineering phase as well as the fabrication and procurement phases of the project;
■ You provide added value through the application of the right technology in various situations;
■ Additional, it is also your responsibility to control subcontractors on the quality of their work, with the focus on metallurgy and materials;
■ You work within the Subsea Infrastructures Pipelines sub department and you are often involved in technically challenging offshore EPIC projects;
■ You are also involved in the review and change process of procedures and standards. Additionally, it is part of your work to enable creative solutions in various project teams.
The job requirements
■ Master degree in Material Science Engineering, Mechanicals of Materials or equivalent. People with a PhD are encouraged to apply;
■ Good understanding of the drivers in a complex project environment;
■ You have at least 10 years’ work experience within a material related RD environment or production environment. Knowledge about Reeling and S-lay/J-lay is a pre;
■ You have a drive to make things happen while being aware of quality and safety;
■ Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
