SUMMARY Oversee the physical operations associated with Materials Management to include: Warehousing, Distribution, Material Handling and Inventory Accuracy. Direct and coordinate all activities as they relate to the areas assigned. Lead department personnel in a professional manner toward achieving company performance goals for schedules, quality, and safety. Develop effective communications and a positive working relationship with other supervisors, shop employees and the support groups to assure positive teamwork. Strive for continuous improvement in all functions and capacities. Work with production planning, engineering and manufacturing to efficiently plan inventory. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. To develop an effective and efficient operations plan for the completion of products for which he/she has accountability utilizing support areas as needed. 2. To assist in the selection of, and to perform the function of training, evaluating, motivating, and guiding subordinates to achieve short-and long range goals of the company. 3. To manage and operate this area in such a manner as to meet scheduled delivery dates 4. Maintain budgeted labor and overtime goals and assist in the review and analysis of labor and product performance as required. 5. Insure that proper safety practices are followed, monitored and enforced. 6. Understand expectations for all internal and external customers and assure all products and processes are aligned with these expectations. 7. Maintain an atmosphere of continual improvement of productivity, quality and safety in all operations and promote good housekeeping practices. 8. Direct supervision of Materials group personnel. Coordinate, organize, plan and improve personnel?s responsibilities 9. Coordinate the implementation of corporate goals, strategies and action plans 10. Responsible for accuracy and physical location of all inventory to include cycle counting and physical inventory activities 11. Review forecasts, work center preparation and process flow to properly plan materials 12. Interact with Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering and Production Supervisors to identify and resolve material shortages 13. Research, report, and implement new improved and/or less costly inventory methods, items or services through value analysis 14. Maintain accurate personnel records and development plans for employees and ensure evaluations are on time and up to date 15. Drive safe practices into the materials group and ensure it is every employee's top priority. 16. Analyze inventory levels and develop processes to adjust levels according to demand. 17. Develop and manage inventory plans in an effort to reduce WIP, improve flow, maximize turns, and improve accuracy. 18. Ensure effective delivery routes are established throughout the facility(s) to reduce motorized traffic and associated expense. 19. Ensure discipline throughout the materials group in an effort to keep the facility(s) clean and orderly. 20. Accept responsibility and own all material related OOS KPI's utilizing them to establish priority and drive improvement BASIC QUALIFICATIONS ? Bachelors Degree in Operations Management or related field ? Four (4) plus years of relevant experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ? Ability to effectively communicate through oral, written and listening skills ? Ability to exercise sound judgment in determining the appropriate action to be taken relating to job duties. ? Ability to change outlook, viewpoint, etc. when circumstances dictate that doing so is best for the Company in general. ? Ability to maintain cooperative working relationship with those contacted in the performance of duties, to include all other employees. ? Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures. Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality. ? Lean Manufacturing Experience ?
