Department overview:
Operations Change Management is a department within operations which manages new projects across MarkitSERV. The department is tasked with defining and delivering longer term productivity and innovation changes to operational platforms
The change management team comprises of two different streams: project engagement and operational enhancements. The project engagement analyst will sit within the project engagement team which is responsible for managing product and platform driven changes that impact existing operation processes across all business lines in MarkitSERV. The operational enhancements team is responsible for driving operational efficiency and process re-engineering projects
Position summary
The Project Engagement team works with the product and IT delivery teams to provide operations input and support into new projects to ensure smooth implementation of major implementations and initiatives (for e.g. Dodd Frank regulatory reporting). The team therefore works closely with product, IT delivery teams and operations.
Duties accountabilities
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
- Analyse business requirement documents and functional specifications with a view to building effective and operationally efficient processes;
- Participate in project, industry and design meetings to understand proposed functionality and provide feedback and insight as to how proposals can work from a practical perspective;
- Push back on suggested process changes as required;
- Partner with the delivery teams design a solution that is scalable and supportable;
- Identify solutions to mitigate the impact of new or changed business requirements on operations and end users;
- Design new or existing processes to incorporate support and get buy-in from operational leads;
- Develop best practices for operational engagement;
- Communicate new processes to relevant stakeholders ensuring buy-in from all relevant parties.
Business competencies
Education and experience
- Experience working in an Investment bank (preferably within OTC Derivatives Operations) or significant vendor to investment banks experience desired
Commercial awareness
- Good understanding of the business and industry trends that impact the business
- Identifies opportunities to drive change in business and implementation processes to realize productivity, risk, commercial and time to market opportunities
