About the Role and Responsibilities
Location: Plano, TX
About the Role:
The Sr. Accountant will ensure assigned General Ledger tasks are completed. Responsible for assigned corporate reconciliations, journal entries and assisting in completing the month and quarter end close process while providing operational and account balance fluxes to senior management. Will provide documentation as requested from internal or external auditors and assist in the proper documentation and validation of procedures to ensure SOX compliance. The Sr. Accountant will report to the Sr Manager, North America Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that assigned accounts are reconciled and narratives are prepared for variance analysis.
- Prepares monthly reports in a timely manner and assist in report development.
- Analyze balances and business drivers for assigned accounts and reconciliations.
- Provide recommendations for improvement of accounting processes and document procedures
- Assist in providing data and analysis for internal and external customers
- Assist with internal and SEC reporting
- Assist with stock administration responsibilities and reporting
- Develop, interpret, and ensure the consistent application of organization policies
Qualifications
Required Experience/Skills Education:
- Bachelors' degree in Accounting preferred.
- CPA or pursuing CPA certification preferred.
- 3+ years experience in accounting.
- Must be proficient with PC software such as MS Office, specifically Excel
- Experience in ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP is preferred.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexible and willing to do what it takes to get the job done
