MCR Engineer Job in City Of London, London Uk
Venator recruitment is working with one of the leading broadcasting centres to recruit a MCR engineer. My client is offering a competitive salary and benefits package. The MCR engineer is responsible for all incoming line feeds, satellite downlinks and communications from live studios and outside broadcasts.
Main Duties
• To ensure the correct technical parameters are met for all channels broadcast.
• Monitor all channels at transmission point and off satellite.
• Confirm all incoming programme material via line and satellite with Transmission.
• Maintain all communications for live studio and outside broadcast productions.
Essential Skills and Experience/ Personal Specifications
You should have proven MCR experience within a multi channel transmission environment.
You should have proven MCR experience in a multi channel transmission environment. You should also possess excellent communication skills and good PC literacy. A self motivated team player is a prerequisite for this role. Other key requirements include;
• A recognised broadcast engineering qualification preferred.
• Ability to multitask with particular emphasis on prioritising under pressure.
• Comprehensive understanding of satellite down linking fibre transmission.
• Good understanding of MPEG - associated deficiencies (lip sync, jitter, pixilation, MPEG artefacts).
• Basic understanding of PCs, software and networking.
• Understanding of encryption.
• Knowledge of UPS, Generator and Mains power.
