We are currently seeking a Measurement and Materials Engineer for the Fort Wayne, IN location. The Measurement and Materials Engineer will be focused on Materials Engineering, Measurements, and logistics responsibilities. The Materials Engineer is responsible for mechanical, chemical and electrical testing to include plant audits, new material approvals, and field return evaluations. The engineer will be responsible for understanding the reason for test, conducting the test, communicating the test results and follow up recommendations to the lab client. Measurement will include support of NPD and field return evaluations in the measurement laboratory. Logistics will require operation of the fork truck for facility shipping, receiving and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- BSME and 2+ years work experience
- Expertise in areas of mechanical force-deflection testing (i.e. Instron), Metallurgical sample preparation (cut, mount and polish), Scanning Electron Microscopy, Optical Microscopy, Salt Spray testing, and electrical Core Loss equipment and tests.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with CMM equipment, comparator, and fork truck operation
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma is a plus
- Individual should be highly motivated fast learner capable of working as part of a team with little supervision to provide timely results to the client.
