There are openings for an Assistant Department Manager / Assistant Perishable Manager in our Deli, Produce, Bakery or Meat department.
SUMMARY OF JOB:
Bakery: Provides leadership in Bakery Department by directing and managing all associates activities, including their in store training, orders all products and supplies for the bakery, schedules and disciplines associates, determines production amounts, and implements merchandising initiatives to grow the business while meeting customer requirements and maximizing profits.
Produce: Provides leadership in the Produce Department by directing and managing all associate activities including their training, orders raw product and supplies for the department and implements merchandizing initiatives that promote sales, while meeting customer requirements and maximizing profits.
Meat: Provides leadership in Meat Department by directing and managing all associate activities, including their training and development. Orders products and supplies for the department and implements company merchandising initiatives that accomplish sales and profit objectives while meeting customer requirements.
Deli: Provides leadership in the Deli Department by directing and managing all associates activities, including their training, orders product and supplies for the deli and implements merchandising initiatives that promote sales while meeting customer requirements and maximizing profits.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Supervises all associates in Bakery Department, Produce Department, Meat Department, or Deli Department. Specific number depends upon store.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in normal store environment where there is limited physical discomfort, although does go into freezers and coolers. Interacts with customers and associates daily.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Lifting and carrying over 40lbs • Operating equipment (baler, power jack and power equipment in the Deli department.) • Bending, reaching and grasping.
• Standing for extended periods and walking • Some tolerance for stress • Hearing (Auditory)
