Job Title: -- Mechanic - 2nd shift    7:00pm  to 3:30 am

 

SUMMARY

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the following systems:  electrical distribution, utilities, facilities, mechanical, and electronic equipment at  local Cincinnati site.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installs and repairs mechanical and electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and building equipment. Coordinate and complete preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, overhead doors, dock levelers, and other mechanical systems. Duties include, but not limited to, the following:

 

§         Ability to read schematic plans of the equipment, measuring instruments and others.

§         Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

§         Exhibits good customer service skills and serves as primary contact with the customer during second shift.

§         Performs preventive and corrective maintenance work orders according to schedule.

§         Properly documents work order execution as required by the applicable SOP’s and escalates pressing issues in a timely manner.  

§         Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

§         Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

§         Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

§         Repairs or replaces defective parts.

§         Lubricates and cleans equipment per manufacturing specification.

§         Starts devices to test their performance.

§         Assists in repairs of electrical equipment.

§         Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.

§         Replaces electric motor bearings.

§         Replace, align, shim motors, and rebuild pumps and motors.

§         Troubleshoots and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and building equipment.

§         Performs other routine duties.

§         Communicates effectively with client to determine and service needs.

§         Communicates with Viox Craft Leader(s) for additional support as required.

§         Completes and submits paperwork accurately and on time.

§         Manages time wisely, remains productive while working independently.

§         Works required hours.  Is available during non-work hours as needed and responds to emergency calls in a timely manner.

One-year certificate from college or technical school AND five to ten years related experience and/or training, within the biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Ability to add, substract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
